The Red Lion Hinxton in the Press
All the below have been printed on a merit only basis - because The Red Lion Hinxton was doing something that the journalists genuinely wanted to talk about and there was no quid-pro-quo commitment to take out advertising space.
The exception to the above is the Explorer Magazine, which we do subscribe to, as we find they write very well (see some of their articles here) and are well received locally.
Cambridge Style Magazine October 2010
Louise Cummings from Cambridge Evening News Style Magazine paid us a visit for our September Chef Taster Menu and was "surprised to discover that Peter was only 28 and yet such a culinary whizz ... the menu rose to a crescendo, with each course bettering the last - and the presentation was faultless...It had been a glorious gastro night ... the Tasting Menu Dinner had been a roaring success"

Settle in for the summer
You can’t beat a good pub garden – and this lot are the finest, with plenty to keep you amused, from cricket pitches to petting farms
Vincent Crump
A good pub garden is hallowed ground — just add a spot of sunshine, tasty food, a quenching tipple and sparky company, and you’re all set for the afternoon. Here’s where to find the finest.
4 Red Lion
Hinxton, Cambridgeshire
“We’re now even prouder of our garden than of our pub and bedrooms,” says Alex Clarke, mine host at the Red Lion. And no wonder — it has been freshly primped by the designer Ian Shooter, a Chelsea Flower Show medallist last year, and now has a dapper new patio, all teak and trellises; contemplative corners under the church tower; a flutter of doves to the dovecote; and Alex’s pride and joy, his arbour. “Our wisteria has flowered in its first season,” he bubbles. “I’m tickled lilac!” The menu has a red rosette from the AA and includes wood pigeon with beetroot vinaigrette. Don’t tell the doves.

We were listed as one of 50 great pubs in England and Wales, selected from Alistair Sawday's latest publication:
"A lovely spot for peaceful summer sipping. Pop in for a beef and horseradish sandwich or linger over pot-roasted rabbit. Adnams and Woodforde's beers add to the appeal, as do eclectic menus that list a range of classic pub dishes, all at good prices. Puddings are wonderful: sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce, passion fruit pavlova."
